Slay the Spire is Mega Crit's deck-building roguelike, the game most other card-based roguelikes get measured against. Pick one of four characters, Ironclad, Silent, Defect, or Watcher, and fight up through the Spire's three Acts, drafting a new card, relic, or potion after nearly every encounter. Each class plays like a different game entirely: the Ironclad brawls on Strength and HP loss, the Silent chains Poison and Shivs, the Defect juggles elemental Orbs, and the Watcher swings between meditative Calm and all-out Wrath.

Your deck, relics, gold, and potions reset to zero every time you die or finally put down the Corrupt Heart. Only your Ascension level and any character unlocks follow you into the next climb, which is why every decision between fights carries more weight than it looks like it should. Rest and heal at a campfire, or spend that same stop upgrading a card instead. Fight the elite for its relic and risk the HP, or walk past and keep what you’ve got. Push Ascension high enough and normal enemies hit harder, elites turn more aggressive, and the modifiers keep stacking the further you climb. Carry the Ruby, Emerald, and Sapphire Keys into a single run and Act 3’s ending gives way to a fourth act most players never see.
