Ingredients, stamina, sale price and where to learn every recipe
Data from build 25583279, updated
You can cook 163 of the 191 foods and drinks in Mistria. The other 28, Coffee, the wines and the chocolate bars among them, have no recipe, so you buy them or find them. You start knowing 7 recipes. The rest come from the Inn, Darcy’s stall, villager requests, Nora’s mail and mine chests. Food is the main way to refill stamina, which makes the big planning question what to pack for the mines.
Your kitchen caps the stars you can cook. The Beginner Kitchen covers 105 recipes, all one and two stars. The Cozy Kitchen adds 30, mostly three-star dishes, and the Adept Kitchen opens the last 28, which is where the big stamina food lives. Each recipe also wants a Cooking level, topping out at 40. Repair the Inn and its kitchen cooks like an Adept one, so you can make top-tier food before you pay for your own.
Ship a crop for the first time and Nora will often mail you a recipe that uses it. 23 recipes arrive that way, so selling one of everything early pays off twice. 34 more are villager request rewards and 51 are for sale. Take the Taste Maker perk at Cooking level 1 as soon as you can. Without it, the 21 recipes that drop from mine treasure chests never show up.
Cooking perks give a dish a random chance at one bonus infusion. Restorative (level 1) adds bonus health and stamina regen for two hours. Speedy (30) is +10% movement speed for two hours, or +5% for six. Likable (15) and Lovable (45) make a villager like or love the dish as a gift, which is the cheapest friendship trick in the game. Magical restores one mana orb and Fairy gives one revive at 50% health and stamina when you faint, but both only roll on four- and five-star dishes.
Don’t cook for money. Markup is a dish’s sale price minus what its ingredients would sell for raw, and the best in the game is Golden Cheesecake at +580t. Across all 163 recipes the typical markup is 25t, so cook for stamina and gifts and ship the crops. Dairy dishes count too, since Milk, Butter and Cheese all have sale prices. The figure ignores stove time and what you paid for shop staples like Sugar and Flour.
